For YHA Therapists
No More Victims Process
Preliminary Step - Understand How Reconciliation/Clarification Works
Please watch this video to learn how reconciliation/clarification should work. Please refer to the clarification policy file below for details.
Step 1 - Identify victim
As you know, many youth who engage in sexual misconduct have more than one victim. Once the victim(s) of YHA clients are identified and it is proper timing, please move on to step two.
Step 2 - Inform victim’s appropriate contact about No More Victims Program
Please inform the victim’s appropriate contact (parent or guardian) about the No More Victim’s program by:
Letting them know that No More Victims will fund 10 therapy sessions to work towards reconciliation if the victim wants to, and it is safe/appropriate to do so.
Asking the victim’s parent/guardian to choose and contact a therapist to treat their child then send you the contact information (number or email) of the therapist.
Step 3 - Send THIS LINK to Victim’s therapist
Once you have the therapist’s contact information:
Please send THIS LINK to the victim’s therapist. It will give them access to the Clarification Policy and Video for No More Victims’ Therapist.
The NMV team will approve funds and send a contract to the victim’s therapist. Once signed NMV will inform you (YHA therapist) of starting the process. NMV will fund 10 sessions per victim with the goal of working towards clarification/reconciliation by the end.
Step 4 - Stay in contact with victim’s therapist
Once the NMV team informs you that funds are approved, please work with the victim’s therapist to make a plan of action for reconcilation/clarification if it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Step 5 - Work through Clarification/Reconciliation if it is safe and appropriate to do so
When it is safe/appropriate to do so, please work through apology/clarification with victim’s therapist.
